Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question about your Fullness of Time watch? The answers below cover our watches, testing process, automatic movements, ordering, returns and service.

If you need additional assistance, contact us at info@fullnessoftimewatches.com.

What is Fullness of Time Watch Company?

Fullness of Time Watch Company is a Christian-owned watch company inspired by Galatians 4:4:

“But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth His Son…”

Our watches are created as reminders of faith and as conversation starters that may open the door to share the good news of Jesus Christ.

Where are the watches assembled?

Our watches are hand assembled, inspected and tested in the United States using imported components, including Japanese automatic movements.

Every completed watch is individually inspected, tested on a timegrapher and pressure tested before being offered for sale.

Will I receive the exact watch shown in the listing?

Yes. The watch pictured in each product listing is the actual watch you will receive.

Because our watches are individually assembled and hand finished, photographs are taken of each completed watch rather than using a generic stock image.

What is included with my watch?

Each watch includes:

  • A Fullness of Time presentation box
  • A Certificate of Stewardship
  • The individual watch and its accompanying bracelet components
  • The actual testing results recorded for that watch

Unless specifically stated in the product description, photography props and wooden display stands are not included.

What is a Certificate of Stewardship?

The Certificate of Stewardship accompanies the individual watch and records information specific to that timepiece, including:

  • Serial number
  • Rate in seconds per day
  • Movement amplitude
  • Beat error
  • Pressure-test result
  • Final inspection information

The card also explains the biblical inspiration behind the model.

What movements do you use?

Our Joshua GMT watches use the Japanese NH34A automatic GMT movement.

Our Jonah Diver and Noah Nautical watches use Japanese automatic movements such as the NH35.

These mechanical movements are powered by the motion of the wearer’s wrist and may also be wound manually. They do not require a battery.

What is an automatic watch?

An automatic watch contains a mechanical movement powered by a mainspring. A rotating weight inside the watch winds the mainspring as the watch moves on your wrist.

If the watch is not worn for an extended period, its power reserve will eventually run down and the watch will stop. This is normal and does not mean the watch is defective.

The watch can be restarted by winding it and setting the correct time.

Why did my watch stop overnight?

An automatic watch may stop if it was not sufficiently wound or worn long enough to build its power reserve.

To restart it:

  1. Make sure the crown is dry.
  2. Unscrew the crown if the model has a screw-down crown.
  3. Leave the crown in its normal winding position.
  4. Turn the crown clockwise slowly and repeatedly.
  5. Set the time and date.
  6. Gently secure the crown before wearing the watch.

Do not force or overtighten the crown.

For additional instructions, please visit our New to Automatic Watches page.

How accurate is an automatic watch?

An automatic watch will not maintain the same exact accuracy as a quartz watch, smartphone or atomic clock.

Its daily rate can vary according to:

  • Wearing habits
  • Position
  • State of wind
  • Temperature
  • Activity
  • Magnetism
  • Time since its last service

Each watch is tested on a timegrapher before shipment, and its measured rate, amplitude and beat error are recorded on the Certificate of Stewardship.

Those results reflect performance under specific conditions at the time of final inspection. Readings can change when the watch is placed in a different position or worn during normal activity. Minor mechanical variation is normal.

Why are my timegrapher readings different from the card?

Timegrapher results can change depending on the watch’s position, state of wind, temperature and test settings.

The Certificate of Stewardship records the results observed during final inspection. It is not a guarantee that the movement will produce identical readings in every position or throughout its life.

If your watch begins gaining or losing time substantially beyond normal mechanical variation, contact us for assistance.

How do I set the GMT hand?

The additional hand on a Joshua GMT displays time on a 24-hour scale and may be used to track another time zone.

The GMT hand is adjusted using the crown’s setting position. Because crown direction and setting procedures matter, please follow the detailed instructions on our New to Automatic Watches page.

Never force the crown or setting mechanism.

When should I avoid changing the date?

Avoid using the quick-set date function when the watch’s displayed time is approximately between 9:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.

During those hours, the movement’s internal date-change mechanism may already be engaged. Forcing a quick date change during this period could damage the movement.

When in doubt, move the hands to approximately 6:00 before using the quick-set date function.

Are the watches waterproof?

No watch should be considered permanently waterproof.

Fullness of Time watches are water resistant and individually pressure tested to 5 ATM before shipment. The result is recorded on the Certificate of Stewardship.

A 5 ATM rating describes performance during a controlled pressure test. It does not mean the watch should be worn 50 meters underwater.

Water resistance can diminish because of gasket aging, impact, crown damage, improper crown position or the case being opened.

Please review our Water Resistance & Crown Care page before exposing your watch to moisture.

Can I swim or shower while wearing my watch?

Fullness of Time does not recommend wearing a 5 ATM watch while:

  • Swimming
  • Snorkeling
  • Diving
  • Showering
  • Bathing
  • Using a hot tub or sauna
  • Participating in water sports

The watch is intended to withstand normal everyday exposure such as rain, perspiration, accidental splashes and hand washing with the crown properly secured.

Never operate the crown while the watch is wet.

Is the Jonah Diver a professional diving instrument?

The Jonah Diver features classic dive-watch styling and a rotating timing bezel, but it is not represented as a professional or ISO-certified diving instrument.

Each Jonah Diver is individually pressure tested to 5 ATM. It should be used according to the guidance on our Water Resistance & Crown Care page and should not be used for scuba diving.

Why does a black dial sometimes look gray in photographs?

Unless otherwise stated, our black dials have a matte-black finish.

Bright photography lights, reflections from the crystal and different viewing angles can make a matte-black dial appear gray or charcoal in some photographs. The underlying dial color remains black.

Because the watch pictured is the actual watch you will receive, we encourage customers to review every listing photograph before ordering.

Why might the dial lettering look slightly different from another watch?

Each dial is hand finished using custom lettering created in-house.

Because of this process, minor edging, texture or variation may be visible under magnification or in certain direct lighting. These subtle details are generally less noticeable during normal wear and are part of the individual character of a hand-finished timepiece.

They are not mass-produced factory dials, and no two are completely identical. Frankly, designing and building the dials is the most time-consuming part of watch building.  We take pride in our brand and watches and hope you will be proud to wear a Fullness of Time watch.

How do I size the bracelet?

A qualified jeweler or watchmaker can size the bracelet by removing the necessary links.

Keep every removed link, pin, collar, screw and other component. These pieces may be needed if the bracelet is enlarged later and must be included if the watch is returned.

Damage caused during bracelet sizing is not considered a manufacturing defect. If you are unfamiliar with bracelet sizing, we recommend having the work performed professionally.  If you are familiar with bracelet resizing, typically a 1mm screwdriver is all you need.

How quickly will my order ship?

In-stock watches are generally prepared and shipped within 2–3 business days.

Complimentary standard shipping is provided to addresses within the United States. Tracking information will be emailed after the order ships. Shipments are insured and may require a signature upon delivery.

At this time, we do not offer international shipping.

What is your return policy?

An unworn watch may be returned within 14 calendar days after delivery, subject to the conditions of our Return & Refund Policy.

The watch must remain in its original, resalable condition and must be returned with:

  • All bracelet links and components
  • Presentation box
  • Certificate of Stewardship
  • Accessories and materials originally included

Customers are responsible for insured return shipping when returning a watch because of preference, fit or a change of mind.

Please contact us for authorization before mailing a return.

What warranty is included?

Every watch includes a 90-Day Limited Warranty covering parts and labor for qualifying defects in materials, assembly or workmanship under normal use.

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear or scratches
  • Accidental or impact damage
  • Improper use
  • Normal mechanical timekeeping variation
  • Magnetism
  • Improper crown operation
  • Water exposure outside our published guidance
  • Damage caused by improper sizing, modification or repair
  • Disclosed characteristics of the hand-finished dial

Please review the complete 90-Day Limited Warranty before purchasing.

Can you service my watch after the warranty expires?

Contact us if your watch requires regulation, pressure testing, movement replacement or another repair after the warranty period.

We will evaluate whether the service can be performed and provide an estimate before beginning any paid work. Service availability and pricing will depend on the condition of the watch and the availability of compatible components.

How do I contact Fullness of Time Watch Company?

For product questions, order assistance, returns or service, contact:

info@fullnessoftimewatches.com

Please include your order number, watch model and serial number when asking about an existing purchase.

Do you accept custom orders or preorders?

Yes. Fullness of Time Watch Company may accept custom, special-order and preorder requests depending on component availability and our current production schedule.

Available options may include:

  • Dial color
  • Bezel color or style
  • Hand and seconds-hand colors
  • GMT-hand color
  • Case style
  • Bracelet configuration
  • Joshua GMT, Jonah Diver or Noah Nautical model details

Because our watches are assembled in small quantities, not every component or combination will always be available.

To request a watch, contact us at info@fullnessoftimewatches.com and include:

  • The model you are interested in
  • Your preferred dial and bezel colors
  • Your preferred hand or GMT-hand color
  • Any example photographs or listing references
  • Your desired completion date

We will review the request and provide the proposed configuration, price, estimated lead time and payment terms before the order is confirmed.

Custom and special-order watches are generally final sale once components have been ordered or assembly has begun. They remain protected by our 90-Day Limited Warranty against qualifying defects in materials, assembly or workmanship.

We may also offer preorders for defined watch configurations that are temporarily unavailable. A preorder listing will clearly identify the watch as a preorder and provide an estimated shipping period.
